When two paws need to work together on one surface
The Medium Balance Bone gives your dog enough room to place both front paws or both hind paws together. This opens up different exercises from those possible with a small single-paw target.
Medium is particularly useful for calm hold positions and exercises in which your dog shifts weight in a controlled way or places the front and hind quarters in different positions.
Small or Medium?
Small is designed for individual paws and precise targets. Medium is the better choice when two paws should stand together on one surface. The exercise you want to build matters just as much as the size of your dog.
What does a second balance bone add?
With two Medium bones, you can place the front and hind paws on separate surfaces, stagger the elements or vary the distance between the targets. This gives you more room to develop the exercise over time.
Use air pressure to grade the difficulty
Depending on the air pressure, the surface feels firmer or more yielding. Change only one factor at a time and make sure your dog can still perform the task calmly and with control.

Build the exercise gradually
Start with stable positions that are easy for your dog to understand. Only change spacing, movement sequences or surface give once your dog can stand calmly and securely.
- Train on a level, secure surface.
- Keep sessions short and focused.
- Increase only one aspect of difficulty at a time.
- Adapt training to your dog’s size, experience and current movement ability.
